Job Overview:
An Eloqua Technical Specialist / Administrator is responsible for the technical configuration, integration, and optimization of Oracle Eloqua in a business environment. They ensure the marketing automation system runs efficiently, providing support, managing integrations with other platforms (like CRM systems), and optimizing campaign execution through technical solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of marketing processes. The position is essential in maximizing Eloqua’s effectiveness as a marketing automation tool, enhancing lead management, and improving overall marketing performance. Merging two Eloqua instances is a complex process that requires careful planning and execution, making it an important aspect of this role.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
1. System Configuration & Administration
- Eloqua Setup and Configuration: Install, configure, and manage the Eloqua instance to meet business and marketing requirements.
- User Management: Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure security and smooth workflow within the platform.
- Workflow Automation: Set up and optimize automated workflows for lead nurturing, customer segmentation, and email marketing.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues related to Eloqua, including campaign execution, email delivery, forms, landing pages, and integrations.
2. Integration Management
- CRM Integration: Ensure seamless integration between Eloqua and CRM systems (Salesforce), enabling smooth data synchronization and accurate lead tracking.
- Third-Party Integrations: Set up and maintain integrations with other tools and platforms, such as web analytics, CMS, social media, and other marketing technologies.
- API Usage: Use Eloqua's API to build custom integrations or automate data transfers between Eloqua and other enterprise systems.
3. Data Management and Governance
- Data Quality: Maintain high-quality data within Eloqua by ensuring proper data segmentation, cleansing, and management.
- Lead Management: Oversee the management of lead scoring models and ensure they align with company marketing and sales goals.
- Database Management: Manage segmentation and maintenance of marketing databases in Eloqua, ensuring accurate audience targeting and lead nurturing.
4. Campaign Execution and Optimization
- Campaign Setup: Assist in creating and launching email campaigns, landing pages, forms, and other marketing automation tasks.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct tests on email templates, workflows, and landing pages to ensure cross-device and cross-email client compatibility.
5. System Upgrades and Maintenance
- Platform Updates: Monitor and manage regular updates to the Eloqua platform to ensure the system uses the latest features and security patches.
- Version Management: Ensure that Eloqua is up to date with the latest software updates and make any necessary compatibility adjustments for other integrated systems.
6. Migration and Merging the Instance
- Merging two Eloqua instances is a complex process that requires careful planning and execution to ensure all data, integrations, campaigns, and custom configurations are preserved and optimized.
Basic Qualifications :
1. Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Eloqua's technical features, including forms, landing pages, email templates, campaign workflows, and segmentation.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and integration processes.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, data management, and custom integrations.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email template creation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with JavaScript for landing page or form customizations.
2. Experience
- Proven experience in a technical role with marketing automation platforms, particularly Eloqua.
- Experience with data management and segmentation strategies.
- Experience in CRM integration, particularly between Eloqua and Salesforce.
3. Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills to address technical issues related to Eloqua or its integrations.
- Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively to ensure minimal disruption to marketing activities.
4. Certifications
- Oracle Eloqua Certification is often required or preferred.
- Additional certifications in related areas such as Salesforce
Required Qualifications :
- Any Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of IT experience as an Eloqua Administrator.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working in digital marketing or marketing automation.
- Understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.

- Marketing Automation Principles: Knowledge of lead nurturing, segmentation, campaign management, and other key marketing automation principles.
